Segítség.ma
Segitseg.ma community startup was launched in 2020 with the aim of helping our compatriots in the Carpathian Basin and the diaspora to access native language health care, mental health care and special education
Based on a questionnaire survey, we assessed the problems faced by expatriate Hungarians day by day outside Hungary's borders. These are:
- Difficulties in finding Hungarian specialists in cross-border areas
- Difficulties in finding Internships in Hungarian language
- Low levels of patient education
The innovative interface of Segítség.ma (www.segitseg.ma) was created to address these issues. With the help of our international professional team we have developed an online platform where registered users can easily and quickly find Hungarian-speaking professionals nearby. Our primary target group is dedicated mothers and their families abroad, aged 30-45, who have difficulties finding a reliable professional. In order to increase the level of patient education, we hold presentations every month with renowned professionals on topics such as mourning treatment, maintaining our mental health, or health in old age. We are currently past more than 30 patient education lectures that have reached thousands of people. Recordings of the presentations are shared with visitors on our YouTube channel, and we already have more than 25,000 views on this platform. In addition, in September 2021, we have launched our “Movies through Doctors’ eyes” and “Diseases on the Screen” movie recommendations on our Youtube and Blog pages in order to reach as many people as possible. Registration for www.segitseg.ma is free for everyone. Our users can now get help from more than 220 professionals through the site. One of the most significant achievements of our work is that we managed to win 6th place at the Highlights of Hungary awards ceremony held in 2020. Our vision is to make Segítség.ma the largest Hungarian-language healthcare intermediary system operating across borders, which will not only help patients find professionals, but also provide further training opportunities and presentations for professionals.
