Clean Water Hungary - A mi Dunánk
The series of lectures of Our Danube / Clean Water Hungary is aimed at high school students in Budapest who are interested in environmental problems and their solutions and want to contribute to the protection of natural values.
More and more of us are concerned with the role and responsibility of the individual in conserving nature. In the Clean Water Hungary project, we reach out to young people to approach this topic through their prism and to give them the opportunity to express their opinions and encourage them to take action.
The project offers an online education program for 20-30 high school students in Budapest to increase their awareness of water management and the aquatic ecosystem. During the five occasions, the participants can listen to plenary presentations from experts, which we conclude with interactive sessions and creative workshops. In addition to disseminating knowledge, our goal is to promote problem-based and collaborative learning.
The main topics of the lecture series:
- the effects of industrial activity on living waters,
- water as a human necessity,
- the interaction between soils and waters / the relationship between soils and waters,
- hydropower,
- sustainable water management.
The series of lectures end with a conference where students participating in the program will present their solution proposals.
